They are. Marketing budgets are generally harder to pin down than film budgets, though.

It's already made 76% of its total budget back, and its run isn't finished yet.

Studios only get ~50% of the box office take. They have to split it with theaters.

It still has time to make back more of the budget. If it doesn't, oh well. They'll cut their losses and move on.

I doubt it will be very profitable in the end, but still. We still have DVD/Blu-Ray sales and whatnot.

I was reading that they'll definitely lose money on the movie, but not a disastrous amount.
