I have no source, just pure speculation on my part.
It just seems like the sort of thing the church might do to a high profile celeb on the way out.
And if the church isn't responsible, they're probably tracking and "taking care" of whoever is responsible for defaming one of their biggest clients (not parishioner; Scientology is a business).
