I also love that we’re gonna be at nine, which we were before, because I think we can go back to a little bit more [mature] writing. We’re doing that.

What did you think of Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly saying next season would be a “creative renaissance” for the show at the network’s upfront?

I don’t think that Kevin was particularly a fan of what I was trying to do with the beginning of this season. We did an episode of all show tunes, we did several of them. There was the West Side Story thing that I loved, but I don’t think the audience did. Kevin wants a Glee that’s about Top 40, pop culture, big stars. So I know that he loved the end of this season, and I went and pitched him the next season and I think he loves it because it’s very pop-culture-based. We’re doing a great tribute right off the bat, another Britney Spears episode. Many of the characters will be starting over as underdogs, which is a good thing for the show. I really made an effort, talking to all the regulars about it.

I liked their covers too but the way the way they tried to put them in the storyline was just wrong. And the ending

"enough of her, let's sing Paramore!!" when they could've sung "Everytime" and get their point across. I'm still mad about that.

Glee is garbage, I'd actually rather them not do this again (the last one was really messy).

Season 1/The First 13 wasn't at all, and that was when Glee was universally considered to be at its BEST. The Back 9 is when Glee started deteriorating slowly and they started doing more current, Top 40 music and tributes. Then by the time Season 2 hit, Glee was full on Top 40 and tributes, hence Season 2 being considered the worst season. Season 3 started off promisingly with the promise of less Top 40 and tributes, but they eventually fell back into Top 40/tributes, although not as bad as Season 2.
