Here is CNN's Report on Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) racist rant at a comedy show when members of the audience got into an disagreement with him.

The guy was apparantly heckling and being a prick - it'd be interesting to know what exactly was said to Richards. However, Richards seriously went off on one - if the guy hadn't thrown prejudiced remarks at him first (and even then you can find other ways to retaliate). It wasn't only the n-remarks which are bad enough alone but it was the whole '150 years ago...' bit and the taunting like it was funny or as if supporting that kind of 'superiority' and perhaps even missing it that made the whole thing worse.

The guy then called him a 'cracker ass' - is that specifically aimed at White people?

I do agree with one poster there to an extent though - in that there are famous and liked 'comedians' who take the **** out of people in prejudiced ways.

The bit about him not being able to do anything but Seinfield and not being good at anything else was lame, if you think that why go to see him - which indicated he would have and did heckle and got a reaction he didnt like - it was too much of a reaction though. Richards could have just said how much money he'd made from Seinfield so who was the loser etc.

I'm not sure what to think about this. Both sides were wrong in my opinion.
I don't think the black audience members could get any sympathy when they were being disruptive during his show(It's funny that whoever filmed this neglected to show that part). His reaction to them was way out of line and in the end it will hurt him more than it hurt them. I didn't expect this kind of vulgar behavior from someone who was very much loved on that TV Show.

I believe he will be on David Letterman Tonight.

Yeah he apologized but he shouldn't have said the n word at all because he has a long way to go to be a standup comedian

Kramer was way out of line. I've seen comedians get pissed because people were being fresh and interrupting them but they didn't make it all about race. It's just uncalled for and totally off topic.

While you can make a case that the hecklers shouldn't have come to see a comedian just to heckle said comedian, what Michael Richards SHOULD have done was ignore it entirely and continue on with the show or, if he just couldn't ignore it, try to get security to escort them out of the building, not go off and go on a non-sensical racist lecture.

I think it's safe to say that, after this, the only thing Richards can fall back on now is Kramer, because his career as a stand-up comedian is pretty much shot.

I totally agree, Ryan & PANCOSONIC. While he may have been pissed off due to being interrupted (and the hecklers in no way aren't to blame either), he should have been professional like most comedians and kept it moving. UInfortunantely, like the douchebag he is, he went on the racist verbal assault. He should have realized that as a comedian, he has a reputation. I highly anyone in the emrertainment industry cares if a few guys in the audiencde were interrupting him. This stunt of him could cost him gigs, potential roles, ect; so he only hurst himself in this act.

Well, he still has those Seinfield checks to fall back on
