I've read a few of these in an old fairy tale book before like Snow White, Cinderella, and Rumplestiltskin.

I still have to make time to read all the original stories, but you missed the Beauty and the Beast. Her father basically gives her daughter away to the beast to save his own life. The Beast rapes, abuses her physically and emotionally. She ends up falling in love with him, but I don't remember the ending.

I recently had to read RRH for a English essay. Some of the original stuff was nasty, like Red having sex with the wolf and helping him kill her Grandma.

There are all so morbid. Some of them are just downright nasty.

I remember reading the original The Little Mermaid a few years ago and being shocked that she just dissolves into foam in the end. And I also remember reading that, after being transformed into a human, she had to suffer the pain of treading on sharp blades with every single movement.

Loved these.
