If you watch Death Note, chances are you know how amazing L is and how great Light really was. (Okay maybe that's just me. )
Were you happy with the original ending? Were you happy that they replaced L with a second rate knock off version? Were you happy that Light died in a punk ass way?

Well, wasn't the manga ending different? So are we just talking about the anime?

They should've kept L alive instead of replacing him with bland unlikeable knockoffs.

I think L needed to die actually. Light needed that victory to project his God Complex even further, and that was something that catapulted him to a place of no return.

But as for the anime since you already spoiled it I'm glad Light's bitch ass died the way he did it took way too long tbh He was just a crybaby who was worse than the people he was killing.

If I could change something I would have Light die way earlier amd L survive of course. But then the whole show would be kind of pointless

I hated that fanatic guy that Light used to kill people. The guy who messed up everything for him.

Agreed. Light was my fave and even I realized that it started to go downhill from L's demise.

I think it would've been awesome if Misa had turned out to be a genius, and it was her was taking advantage of Light...she could've become the leader of the new world. After all, she's portrayed as a stereotypical bimbo/model throughout the entire series...it would've been a great twist.



But overall, Death Note is one of the best animes of all time, and its storyline was effective, beautiful, and very well done.

And really I hated the thought of good winning vs. evil tbh.
I really wanted to see Kira win the fight and become the ultimate ruler. I thought it would've been interesting if they did show that or show more of L and his origin.

Anything would've been better than Near replacing L.

BUT I LOVED MELLO.

I loved Mello too! I don't know why I loved him but I did. I think it was his ego. It was pretty ****ed up how they didn't give him that much attention. He was way more interesting than Near.

And I also think reincarnating Light as a death god would've been perfect.

Eww, Mello and Near... Why don't we talk about the movies of Death Note so we can ignore those two lessors?

I feel like there's so much that hasn't been explained about shinigami...the full extents of their powers, their origin...if there's one Death Note related thing I'd want Ohba to write, it'd be a story that revolves around the shinigami.

And speaking of shinigami, I really loved Rem. She was intelligent and cunning, but she also showed human emotion...too bad she had to die (ONLY AFTER KILLING L ).
