They already tried and they FAILED.
Their US debut was nothing but broken promises and PCD comparisons.
Bitch I can drag you if I want to.
The Boys single is **** and they were just promoting the album, they did the same on Le Grand Journal and etc. It's not their english debut, they haven't tried yet.
Can you imagine all the great Girls Generation songs in english, plus originals? They don't play with international markets, check their 1st Japan Album and you will see. One of the best album ever and more than a million copies sold.
As soon as they decide to record an english album, you better understand they will come for wigs and certifications.
Personally I don't see any of these acts breaking the US. In all honesty they kinda come across as cheap imitations of the Western product. I'm ready to be proven wrong though.
The only K-pop artist that might have moderate succes is probably Girls Generation.
I Love 2NE!, their music is great, but their presence and thei image just wont work with US.
Girls Generation already got big buzz with their first international album The Boys, They even performed it in US Television Live.
However, according to SM, THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED to launch GG to US market. They say that Korea will always be the center of K-pop, and that is just about it. They are hoping for korea to be the center of music.
LOL are you kidding? 2NE1 is the only group that perfectly syncs with pop music here in the states. Their style and electric sound is basically everything thats popular right now here.
Americans wont "get" Girls Generation or any of these other groups. GG already tried with The Boys and it went nowhere. 2NE1 has Will.I.Am and Interscope records pushing them here.
But OOPS at all these people thinking any of these males would make it. Not in this current industry where overt theatrics and fashion are only associated with female pop stars.
And that TaeYung or whatever wont happen. They tried it with Se7en and ran straight the **** back to korea.
None tbh. I don't think the US will be here for groups. I think the only people that could have a chance are solo acts. Someone like Taeyang or Jay could definitely make it. With their looks and dancing skills, they could be asian chris browns.

YOU-AHOLIC, already making new words in english.
Right, they were testing the waters and the current over here will only have them sink.
Clearly they'd be smarter to make some sort of European debut.
That seems more likely to work out than coming over here.
it'd be cool to see a K pop act break through here. But has that ever happened? i think the language barrier presents an issue. Although I have heard of 2NE1 and I know a few people here that have also heard of/like them.

Most of them aren't trying to crossover with their Korean material.
ah, I guess with English songs they could. That is so rare though. Only good example I can think of is Shakira. Maybe Enrique? I don't even know... Pop groups/boy bands are coming back with The wanted and One Direction...Maybe America could handle a girl band. They've got a lot against them though.
Also America hasn't taken very kindly to Asian musicians in general. Only successful ones I can think of are Far East Movement.

Danity Kane (pop girl group) did have a hit or two, but the death of them was ultimately Diddy.
No efforts have really been that good so far to put any girl groups up there, so I don't know.
The whole 'asian' thing is true though, but there could be a few factors regarding the lack of them with little relevance to race. It depends.
