The 76-year Manhattan director has been meeting with Lindsay, 25, in New York and sources close to Allen say he has been left in no doubt that the troubled former child star is back.

“Woody and Lindsay have been friends for a while and he has always been very supportive of her,” says the source.

“But the Lindsay he had dinner with the other night was different. She’s focused and full of drive.

“They talked about an idea to work together and Woody is very excited about what lies ahead for her. He’s saying that she’ll win an Oscar by the time she’s 30 if she even does half the things she set out to do.”

Of all the starlets labeled a supposed "train-wreck" over the past several years, I've stood by Lindsay staunchly - for a reason - I sincerely think she has acting talent. Woody Allen and countless co-stars, Meryl Streep included, agree.

Her family's a ****ing enabling MESS and the drug's have hurt her in more ways than one - but she's not a complete lost cause IMO, and this is her way out - the craft. Keep busy, keep focused and stay away from the co-enablers, and ladies and gentlemen, Woody's prediction is ABSOLUTELY a reality. Easier said than done, but...

To be honest, I think the drugs saved her career. As horrible as that sounds, it's true. She could have easily faded away, had she remained a "good girl". But the whole partying and getting into trouble thing kept the media's attention. I really do think she could make the biggest movie of her career in the near future.
