What? Adele's album was not the norm for the dance oriented pop music landscape and Beyonce, like Rihanna, has pop and urban backing.
Why do people still act like 4 was a huge risk. If she wouldn't have released Run the world (an uptempo dance girl anthem...like she hasn't done that before) first, then yes but she came out the gate with a similar formula and for some reason it didn't work. It's not like RTW was a horrible song but maybe too much overexposure led to the peak during IASF era.
Her first album had more r&b influence than 4...
IASF did not pave the way for 21...LOL. Nice try, though.
