Which is exactly why it is completely unfair for you all to even mention commercial success, especially when this is about talent.

DEAD @ BadBitch discrediting Kimbra's contribution on STIUTK. I don't remember him ever discrediting Rihanna for "Love The Way You Lie" nor "Live Your Life" back when he was a Rihanna supporter.

She's a great vocalist, can perform well live (consistently), and is imo a better songwriter. I like the quality of her voice more, although that's pretty subjective. I think she is massively more versatile than Lana.

I mean, it's not like were trying to over-play her part in the song. But it's just as bad to under-play her part. Regardless of what she is known for by most of public, she is at least known by most of the public, unlike Lana who has no recognizable song by anyone in the biggest market in the world and many other large markets.

Kimbra is a better singer live.Lana has written great songs but I haven't heard all of Kimbra yet so I can't judge it writing ability wise.

A lot of people know video games. Kimbra has no recognizable song. Gotye does.

You answered half of your question right in the first sentence, it was released LAST YEAR. Not to mention it had no significant promo.

I was gonna vote Lana just because I only knew her, but I listened to that one song and I'm just not gonna vote. I really wanna listen to Kimbra's full album (good that I want to since it just came out haha).

It doesn't matter how you put it. Kimbra has as much to do with the success of "Somebody" as Rihanna on any of her features. Kimbra sang her own verse and sang background on the chorus. It's giving her positive buzz. Her own success across the globe has yet to be seen, but your argument is dumb all the way through. She's only on album #1 and has plenty of time as a young adult to find her "own" success.
