i love the album because i love 70s sexy r&b sounding stuff but it was kind of a singles album. it should have had a little more uptempo to balance it out. there were a few filler tracks also (hip hop star, thats how you like it) but overall i love R&B so of course i loved that album. its my second favorite of hers after B'day. i know everyone thinks 4 was her most mature album but honestly i think dangerously in love was the most mature and the most personal. she was telling a story in the lyrics something that we dont really see as much on the other albums
I LOVE this album, I blast it all the way through every Saturday as I'm cleaning my crib. It's not surprising that it gets alot of hate on this site though...
It's not the most consistent piece of work, and most of it fails to live up to Crazy in Love and the rest of the singles' greatness, but it is a very strong, underrated R&B album.
I think people who hate it are her fans post IASF.
DIL was made to keep her DC fans then she's easily able to change sound like B'day and IASF was made to gain pop listeners. Then she's back to her roots in 4. That's why many people are not here for 4.

LMAO sans Irreplaceable B'Day was mostly R&B/Funk.
Pop fans did not use.
It doesn't get as much hate as IASF though. It's Bey's 3rd best album imo. I love it, some songs are a basic though. The worst being Daddy and That's How You Like IT. But I really like the RnB feel of the whole record and an album with MM&1 and Speechless can't be bad.
It's my least favorite Bey album but honestly it's amazing. You have to be in a certain mood to listen to it though. Oh, and it also spawned the greatest anthem of our generation. /nodelusion
