Jennifer is the new Mary Alice. She was the first neighbor to be living on Wisteria Lane after Susan, Bree, Lynette, and Gabrielle moved away. Leaving their houses vacant to be filled with new neighbors/housewives. This actually would have been a great idea of season 9! Revamping the entire show, with a brand new cast. Did anyone catch the appearance of Roselyn Sanchez as the gardener in this episode? She was supposed to be in Devious Maids. I guess Marc Cherry really had hopes for the show. I thought it was bittersweet, but very realistic that they drifted apart after they moved away. Life goes on, and most friendships don't last. "I grabbed the candlestick and killed that SOB!" Ms. McLusky. Overall, it was a satisfying series finale.
Also, this could just be my theory, but did anyone else notice a possible foreshadowing ending? In the end, we got a sense of happens to all the characters in the future in a flash-forward scene, minus Susan. Interesting enough, when she's turning the block she sees all the people that died on Wisteria Lane (ghosts), do you think there was a bit of foreshadowing indicating that Susan dies shortly after? This could explain why the audience didn't get to see Susan's future.
I've been very critical of the show for its lackluster season(s), but the finale was great. It was the perfect way to tie it all up without being overdramatic or unrealistic. I loved it.
I feel like the Jennifer thing will be something they will open up in a reunion of some sort years down the line, or just to present that Wisteria Lane will never be just any dull neighborhood.
I felt so saddened when she said that their final pokergame, would be the last reconnection they all had. Most friendships don't last, but after EVERYTHING these women been through, more than most women in real life, lets be honest haha, with plane crashes on the streets, to hurricanes destroying the neighborhood, I am sad to hear they never reconnected. I guess there really wont be any reunion special later down the line, since we already know Lynette grows very old haha
