I'm gonna take a gamble and say most aren't on atrl because most are gay. Gays aren't allowed to donate. Plus, gays are notoriously afraid of needles unless it's some type of drug.
I'm not able to donate yet because of my age. I would like to in the future, good willing.

It's not that they aren't allowed to donate, because they are. They aren't allowed to if they had sex with another man (after 1974 I think).

1) Gay men are allowed to donate blood. Men who have had sex with men are not.
!!!
The thought of having a needle in my arm while pumping the blood out makes me cringe.
It's actually kinda cool and you don't feel anything really. I've never donated but when the doctors needed a sample they stuck a needle in me and you could see the blood spray all over the inside of the glass vial.
