There are more rumours of the long-awaited Girls Aloud comeback today as reports suggest the girl group are set to record this year's Children In Need charity single.
A source: "The plan is to release it in November. It is looking like it will be an original song. Bosses think it will be the perfect comeback hit as well as helping a good cause."
Girls Aloud, who recorded I'll Stand By You for the charity in 2004, haven't worked together since parting company in 2009, but the group's production and songwriting team Xenomania revealed yesterday that the girls are recording new material.
Xenomania tweeted last night: "Prepping to go in the studio with @NadineCoyleNOW for new GA sessions... New GA sessions with @NicolaRoberts @KimberleyJWalsh @SarahNicHarding in the studio over the last week."
Rumours that the girls would soon be back together were confirmed recently when Cheryl Cole revealed that an announcement about the reunion would be made "very soon".
Despite trying to cover up their announcement by deleting their Tweets, it seems they forgot to inform Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, who retweeted one of the updates.
There was no mention of fifth bandmate Cheryl Cole's involvement.
Nadine Coyle retweeted:
Be prepared to be amazed!RT @XenomaniaRCRDS: Prepping to go in the studio with @NadineCoyleNOW for new GA sessions
I'm ready for Goddesses Aloud to slay the industry again. We need a decent girlband back on the scene. Every single album was consistently brilliant, and I can't believe they decided to leave after the ****ing FLAWLESS The Promise and Untouchable.
