Iv been listening to this heaps recently and its a fcukin CLASSIC. Thats really all I wanted to say about it. Theres not one song on there that I skip. And people say Kelis was the first one to scream on a track, what about, What About? I love that song!! If only she could get back to this with her next record. I Get Lonely, Got Till Its Gone, Together Again, Go Deep, Everytime, Tonights The Night, Special, Rope Burn, You... its freaking GENIUS.

I'm glad you're having an amazing listening experience with The Velvet Rope. It is one of Jackson's best. "Empty" is the album's greatest track, IMO.

Yeah Empty is another great one I just forgot to add it lol. But yeah iv had this CD since it came out but I never used to really listen to it much but i find myself listening to it all the time these days.

I used to love the video for Go Deep

This is one of my best albums ever. Even the more commercial songs had real meaning and emotion to them, such as 'I get so lonely'. Other faves are 'Special', 'Empty', 'Everytime' and 'You'.

If I'm not mistaken, "Caught Out There" was before The Velvet Rope but I might be extremely wrong about that. *checks* Aaaand I'm very wrong. :P

This was my favorite Janet album though. I guess I have an affinity towards the darker side of things, but Janet in pain was Janet at her best IMO.

Janet's last GREAT album.... its sad to see what she become.

A Classic!

This is the Janet era i liked the best, she got soo blehh after this, she'll never be able to make another classic like Together Again.

I think this album had the best singles, at least for me, I LOVED "I Get So Lonely", one of my favorite songs ever. My fav Janet era is probably Control or RN, but Velvet Rope is defintely classic. Go Deep, Anytime, Anyplace, and I love What About.
