I have begun to date someone for close to two months through web. We video can occasionally and talk almost the whole day. After many failed relationships in real life, this is the most fulfilling one I've had in a while.
We plan to meet and carry on. What are your opinions on these relationships?
Are they silly?
I have mixed feelings. I don't think they're silly or immature, but I think that some people expect too much out of them. If you haven't met the person, you don't truly know if you'll be as attracted to them. It's easy to show only your good side to them online, and they don't see you the rest of the day. Some of my friends that have been in 2+ year long relationships found their significant other online, though. They can work out if you put enough effort in them.
Would I be in an e-lationship, though? I don't know. It's possible, but it would take alot to convince me.

It's always a plan. And they never go through, so your relationship with cute lil Ralph willn't work.
As some of you may know, I'm half of the reason this smiley exists: :melryan:
So yeah, I have taken part in these relationships in the past. They can be quite fruitful and it can definitely feel like a real relationship, but they are MUCH harder to deal with than offline relationships, where you can just see your loved one whenever you want. I was lucky to see my online ex three, four times a year.
