*Disclaimer: This is simply an opinion thread, not a success-rating thread*
Confessions on a Dancefloor by Madonna has roughly sold anywhere from 7-10 million worldwide, spawned two extremely successful singles: Hung Up and Sorry, a very luke warm okay-ish single: Get Together, and the most succesful tour ever by a woman. Although the last single, Jump, has yet to be released; it's safe to say that the 'Confessions Era' is almost over.
-Have you enjoyed it?-
No way! It was so awful, how did her label allow her to make this record?
I wouldn't say "It's time for Madonna to stop", but if she's planning for another dance project , then the answer would be YES, Madge has to stop.
This era sucked in everything.
1-Music
2-Theme
3-Outfits
Actually it was just an opportunity for Madonna to wear those lame leotards and show off how amazing and flexiable her body is after all these years .That's it. And I have noticed that ever since her Live 8 performances. She didn't give a f#*! about what we the fans want aka MUSIC.
She was pretty lame and selfish with this era. I hope she takes a little break from her "re-invention" crap , and just be herself and put the music on the top of her priorites other then thinking about the look and the controversy on the first place.
No, I thought it was overrated and overhyped suckage to the point where I really appreciated Justin Timberlake's latest LP cover. (With him smashing the disco ball.)
But I really applaud Madonna for adopting and saving her future son's life from the inhumane conditions of South Africa.
I clicked it was okay. But I agree with Travis that it was overhyped. I liked the Madonna from her 'Music' era. With "Don't Tell Me", "Die Another Day". Other than that I never cared for her nor did I know anything about her. Besides "Music" and "Confessions" I don't know anything about her. I knew a little about the "American Life" era but only because I heard 'Hollywood' once on the radio. I'm ready for some more stuff. Hopefully she'll return to R&B since I wasn't listening to music when that stuff was out. Hint: I'm only 14, turning 15 in 2 weeks so yeah.
It was okay. Not really a big fan of the theme she went for (clothes, record covers, hairstyle etc). The music was amazing though.
The American Life/ReInvention Tour era still remains my favorite.
I can't believe some of you. Not to discredit "Hung Up" & "Sorry", but "Get Together" & "Jump" are the superior singles and the two best tracks on the album. Some other highlights for me are "Future Lovers", "I Love New York", "Push", & "Isaac." As for other COAD related material, I really like "History."
