Hot topics like this have to be yes or no - you can't have a presidential candidate be on the fence about something like this; the duration of that election was arguably a difficult time to concede to a belief that most Americans hadn't yet taken the time to think about seriously.

point is he said he is against it. I don't buy for a second he is actually for gay marriage. He just thinks saying it will get him the young vote. I am 100% for gay marriage and him saying this makes me ill cause I know he isnt.

He already had my vote because he's not Mitt Romney, but this is very outstanding news.

Regardless this a good thing. All politicians do things like this just to appeal to certain people, he's not the first and won't be the last. And lets not act like Romney isn't the flip flopper on almost all the important issues in the race.

If anything, he is more genuine than not. North Carolina has recently passed a no same-sex marriage bill; Obama has made this statement in a time when he knows people will be listening + paying attention. You can't just make a statement like this and then take it back that easily, even if it was for the purpose of getting votes.
