Yeah, most of my family practices it too. I choose not to argue though, it's just not even worth it. I just shake my head and hope that they can move on from archaic prejudice someday.

My school, thank God, is almost exclusively liberal and even the more conservative ones are accepting and agreeing with me and my friends. Some of my family members on Facebook, however.
Oh and to answer the OP. Well my whole family and friends are Muslim and they can be as homophobic as one can get. They HATE gays. They desire to burn us all,alive. So hope that clears out things.
I've only had one person I know call me a *** before, but that was after I did something really stupid. But he apologized for it, and that meant a lot to me. I really think homophobia is dying in our generation, so it's funny that this guy is all like "I'll be man enough to speak my mind unlike everyone else," when in fact no one is speaking up because they don't give a **** about sexuality. That's certainly a concern left to the 20th century.

Homophobia is majorly found in just the older generation. It's quite shocking to see how many people just don't care about another's sexuality, particularly those in the teens. Nobody really cares about that kind of stuff anymore, it seems. It's still a problem, just a much smaller one.

I was infamous for loving Lady Gaga in high school. For Halloween, I dressed as her in Bad Romance, Telephone, and Alejandro, with costume changes in between each period (I only had 3 that day)
Almost all of the people I know are very, very, VERY homophobic. It's a complete waste of time to try and defend, I sometimes try to push a more neutral point of view to them but that's about it.
surprisingly in school my sexuality was a bug topic and it was talked about but then it calmed down and i was still the same Devin they knew so i had never, unless it was one of my football player friends who always thought i wanted them even though they were always touchin on me and all up in my face
No because they just won't get anything from it I just wonder what those being homophobic will do when one of there children turn out gay cuz they will

My friends are extremely homophobic There are a couple that aren't but that's about it. Random story: This kid I was literally best friends with me started getting hated on by my other friends because he smokes weed (Now those people are all pot heads ) and they stopped talking to him. Later he came out as bi and he got sooooo much **** from them. They harassed him vocally in the halls everyday. I was so pissed at them. Didn't talk to them for 2 weeks.
. Hope everything ends up okay
