WOW. So I just got back from seeing it, and WOW. Somehow, those movies continue to impress the hell out of me. It was sooooo freaking gory, prepare yourself if you do not have a strong stomach. The theatre was entirely sold out, and people cheered before and after the movie.

The ending is soooo good, just like in the other 2. DEFINITELY go and see it if you haven't yet!!!!

I was supposed to see it but I fell asleep before I was supposed to leave. I'll probably see it tomorrow. I did hear it's really good.

I thought it was the worst one yet.

Saw III rocked the box office on Friday opening to a stellar $14.2M, according to estimates, in its first day in theaters. Lionsgate's signature sequel debuted 16% stronger than its predecessor which bowed to a $12.3M Friday a year ago on its way to a robust $31.7M opening weekend. The third part in the lucrative horror franchise played in 218 more theaters and generated the best opening day of any film since August's Talladega Nights. For the Friday-to-Sunday period, look for a gross of about $34-37M for Saw III.

Sony expanded its dysfunctional family comedy Running with Scissors and took in an estimated $800,000 on Friday. For the three-day period, a $2-3M take should result for the Annette Bening pic.

Among holdovers, Friday-to-Friday declines were 33% for The Departed, 42% for The Prestige, 45% for Flags of Our Fathers, and 44% for Flicka.

The top ten films on Friday grossed $29.1M, up a slim 2% from a year ago when Saw II opened atop the box office with $12.3M on its way to a weekend total of $31.7M.

That's great! I love the Saw franchise and I'm so happy for Canadian Lions Gate, the distribution company. The franchise just keeps becoming bigger and more popular every year!

It was fantastic. I loved it. It was gory, probably the worst of the 3. Anyways, check it out. But there won't be a 4th one, can say that.

People should have went to see "Half Nelson" instead, it was such a good movie (unlike the Saw series)

This wasn't scary at all it was just plain nasty.
It was really gross I had one eye open the whole time.
The first 2 were so much better than this.

The Saw franchise is probably the best thing to happen to the Horror genre.

Yeah and the next movie on the list was less than 10 million which is crazy. There is a big difference in sales. I went to that movie by the way. I just couldn't believe how well it did.

I completely agree. I had to have 1 eye shut 24/7, but definitely if you like gory movies, then this is for you. I thought that the ending was some what predictable if you thought ahead while watching it, which I did, but I hope they have a 4th one to conclude what happens to ...

It was so predictable that they would debut at #1, but don't think that it's total for the weekend is $34.2 million because that's just estimates. Obviously no competition since everything was a few weeks old or just not liked by people.

I don't think Saw ever set out to be scary. Saw & Hostel are pioneers of the Gore genre which is getting quite popular lately.

Estimates are never off the actuals by more than 1-2 million.

It didn't matter if there was no competition? There was none because no one in their right mind would open another horror movie on the same weekend as Saw (i.e. why TCM the Beginning opened 3 weeks early).

Yeah Saw has never been "scary". It's creepy and disturbing if anything.
Just got back from the theatre, and of course, I loved it.

It was absolutely filthy disgusting. The pig bath scene was probably the most vile thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

Great twist ending. Very little possibilities for Saw IV? Well, it's already scheduled to come out for next Halloween!

I liked it, thee continue to be smart movies. I went into this one with low expectations after the 1st 2 were so good. I was impressed and actually loved it. They coulda toned down the gore though.

I was so sad when Kerry died though, she even passed the dumb test.

no more Saw movies PLEASE..... The 3rd one was enough. Besides, judging off the way the latest one ended. It would just be korny to make another one. Just end it while it's on top, geez

The 4th Saw is supposed to come out next year on October 26, 2007.
