The lady is actually the mother, she's in custody now, while the baby is 'recovering' as i uploaded this video. It seems the baby was a product of rape, nevertheless, what she did was basically and simply wrong.

This lady was apprehended on 29 May 2011, but the video was just released in Malaysia. She was sentenced to 18 month under section 31(1) Child Protection Act 2001.

Video of baby being abused goes viral a year later

PETALING JAYA: A video of a woman abusing a toddler went viral on social networking sites Wednesday evening, with Malaysians calling for the woman's arrest.

According to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), they received nearly 300 complaints about the case from concerned individuals.

However, PDRM quickly confirmed that the video was an old one and that the perpetrator was currently serving a prison sentence.

"The case was reported in IPD Petaling Jaya on May 29 last year and arrests were made on the same day.

"The perpetrator is the biological mother of the abused baby girl," read a statement they posted on their Facebook page.

The woman is currently serving a prison sentence of 18 months commencing from the date of arrest, under Section 31 (1) Children Act 2001 which covers ill-treatment, neglect, and exposure of children to harm.

The baby is now in the custody of the Social Welfare Department, and the person who recorded the video is a police witness in this case.

The video, which runs for over four minutes, depicts a woman sitting on a bed hitting a baby with a pillow and her hands, and kicking the child.

The video began circulating on Wednesday, with outraged Twitter and Facebook users calling for the woman to be identified and arrested.

That baby doesnt even look like its 2 yet and this disgusting woman would do such a nasty thing.

And if you were able to hold a camera, filming a young toddler getting physically abused, wouldnt you have been able to put the camera down and stop this woman

Actually, I can kind of see where you're coming from, but what if someone who DOES know where this woman is comes across the video through the video becoming viral? They certainly would not have done so had the video not gone viral.

It's implausible...but not impossible.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not watching that clip. No way in hell.

As soon as i got through a couple of seconds of that video, my 2 year old sister walks in the room.

Ok can we close this thread now? The mother has been taken into custody LAST YEAR and people don't need to be watching this
