During the last months of 2011, partly because of some huge overexposure, Gaga's career was evidently losing momentum. 'You And I' didn't succeed outside America while 'Marry The Night' failed almost everywhere; her admirable promo efforts' effects seemed to be gettin' smaller and smaller besides a few exceptions (Thanksgiving special): her high-profile New Year's Eve performance didn't lead to any noticeable increase in both albums and singles sales. Then, Adele swept award shows (Grammy Awards, BRITs) in February, leaving Gaga in the shadows: she didn't walk the red carpet, give press conferences or performances at the Grammys, keeping an extremely low-profile, and didn't even attend Brit Awards, despite being nominated in a main category.
Now that her overexposure has been forced to end, the situation seems brighter: her worldwide tour, the
Born This Way Ball, has kicked off to huge acclaim and success, her catalog sales are stable, and her limited appareances (like the Simpsons' episode) seem to be gettin' more interesting. Her fashion sense is also getting better after some lows of the 'Born This Way' era, and the media and the general public seem to be reacting well to her keeping a low profile.
So,
is Gaga career regaining momentum? Or is it just keeping its slow decline? Or has it never lost some?
