Response To Janet Critics
I was going to keep my mouth shut and let the tirade against Janet continue. But, apparently, it has not stopped and I must respond.
Some of you would like to make it seem like Janet is new on the block and has never had success before. Despite what you say, Janet Jackson is an international superstar. She has 5 #1 albums to her credit, sold out world tours, etc. She has had 10 #1 singles and she is tied with R Kelly in the R&B category. Therefore, stop the crap about her success.
I have nothing to say about Justin Timberlake because I rather not. But, wake up people. When All For You debuted at #1 with 605,000 sold, how did you think that happened? She was played everywhere on the radio, her video was everywhere (including MTV) and she was crowned MTVIcon. If you remember, the ALL FOR YOU single broke records at radio.
BOTTOM LINE: She has not been supported by radio, MTV, VH1 ever since Superbowl. BET and Oprah gave her a lending hand, but she has had to fight to get played. It is ridiculous. If you are done with Janet, move on to the younger crowd favorites: Christina, Beyonce, Ciara, etc. Why bash someone over and over again when it is already known 20 Y.O. did not do as well as hoped. I don't get it.
I hope Janet proves many wrong, comes back strong with her tour...but if she doesn't, I am still a fan that supports her work and her heart for sharing music with the world. I hope that whoever you are a fan of fares better and does not have to endure daily ridicule from people who get kicks out of knocking someone down.
