Born To Die went #1 in more than 10 countries the week of its release. The album is still in the top 10 on Mediatraffic Albums Chart, second best selling album of 2012. It's still doing very good in Europe and it will be most likely #2 on UK Album Charts later today. In Oceania, the album is doing wonders without a hit single, currently #2 on iTunes Australia, already platinum. Born To Die is doing good in Canada too, still in the top 30 this week. The only country where Lana Del Rey is underperforming is the US. She sold 225k there but it's out of the top 50 this week.

Yeah, but maybe that SNL performance stuck in their head. I dunno. I love every single performance she's done. Maybe she is just too alternative for a female. They don't have problem with bands like Fun and male singers like Gotye being anti-mainstream.
