I buy two, maybe three CDs a year since I simply don't ever have the money to buy CDs. Just because I don't(well, really, can't) buy albums, it means I don't like music now? That makes no sense. If you listen to the music, obviously you like it. And, honestly, I think I can say I like music. The only form of music that I don't listen to is gospel. That's it. Anything else is fair game.

And another thing, I like to test out albums before I buy them, just in case. I don't want to go out and buy an album with no previous listening to any of the songs other than the singles and find there's one or two good songs and then a lot of meh to ****** songs, especially considering most of the albums these days are $14 or higher. I have no desire to pay $14(or even more) for an album with mostly ****** songs without listening to the album beforehand. It's not me. It'll NEVER be me, unless they finally lower the prices to $10 or lower permanently instead of when albums are first released. Otherwise, i'll never buy albums on a consistent basis without listening to the album first. They're just too expensive.

I'm not against supporting my artists, though. If I could, i'd be going to concerts all the time. THAT is where the money for my favorite artists comes from, not from album sales. It's common knowledge that album sales go to the labels and not the artists. I'm going to say this, though: If you want to buy CDs and whatever, go on ahead. If you can afford to buy CDs, go on ahead. But I can't say I can do the same.

^ That pretty much sums up my argument as to why downloading really isn't much harm to an artist. If your stuff is good/likeable, then people will legally download your song and maybe even buy your album.

Why is it songs like "Chicken Noodle Soup", "Laffy Taffy", and "Chain Hang Low", songs with pre-pubecent styled lyrics smashes on the charts but "Save Room", "Who Knew", and "Lost Without U" stay far from the radio radar? Is it because these pop, hip-hop and R&B-type artists are supposed to be psychologically forced into creating the same continual sound LP after LP? Is it because we're too lazy to walk to the nearest Meijer, Circuit City, or Best Buy to purchase these aural addictions? Is it because we're influenced and review-filled before we lay our hands upon the products ourselves? Is it because we refuse to embrace our favorite artists paying homage to their idols or our favorite artists trying a new sound from that which may already be apparently old and used by newer artists? The answers are jumbled and forever will be, but one thing is for sure: Music is THE universal language and if you're missing the 'conversation' by choice, you're dumb.

I agree with you in theory dude (Janet, WTF). I download music abnd such but as a rule if I download and like the CD, I buy it. But there is a lot of suck out there and so I prefer to download stuff before I drop 10-15 bucks on it. BTW, you have Robin Thicke available for download in your music journal deal. That looks bad.

I buy albums from artists that I love and am a huge fan of. If I like the artist then I'll check out their stuff by downloading it, if its hott then I'll go out and buy it. If its whack then I delete it off my cpu. I love the fact that we can download albums and preview it before we buy it. I have bought a few albums in the past that only had a handful of good songs and the rest were crappy/boring. I hate wasting my money on something I could have previewed before hand.

People love to make up dumba$$ excuses like they don't support the overrated yet they download their albums.

If you like the album and you don't wanna spend 15 bucks... take yo a$$ to the used section and see if its there, if so I'm sure you can find it for under 10 bucks. I know I usually buy albums from the used section, they only put albums that are in good condition over there. So don't worry about if they have scratches or what not cuz thats not goin to be there.

We the people support non-talent so when they dominate our radio and the charts, we can only blame ourselves. Record companies are only gonna put out what they see is selling, if we stop buyin crap and start buyin talent then that forces them to promote their talent instead of pushin these dancers down our throats.

I know that on my blog, I highly support buying albums. I don't put up albums on my site unless its something you cannot find in the US. I write reviews on albums I think you should buy or albums that you should avoid.

Great post well said i always support my favorite artist i admit i have not bought so many albums this year becase i have not hada job but now that i do i am going to buy some of the one i have been craving for
