Maybe I dont fully get the point but are they not black just so they blend into the dark background? I mean, its not about race but about dark/light. Sometimes I think people read too much into things especially where skin colour issues are involved.
But where ideal colour is concerned I think theres a general consensus that the ideal is somewhere between very dark and very pale....a sort of caramel colour. Hence white people tanning and dark people lightening.

Well, it's no secret Asians have a fascination with fair skin and don't like dark skin. Fairness creams (that don't actually work) are sold everywhere in Asia.

After looking again I did see 4, my eyes focused on the font and must have missed the other two, that said why are the other two hidden so to speak,, I wonder what tthe photographher who took the pic thinks about the cover?
Well, you have to ask this question. To the people it would be offending, does it offend you?
If it does, then yes it's racist. If it doesn't, then no.
I think the R word is thrown around way too much nowadays. I mean, I can see where they're coming from with this cover, it does appear very racist. But some of the stuff that's considered racist nowadays, and the funny thing is, people say it's racist and it when the minority group is asked about it, they're not the slightest bit offended. Racism is a powerful word, it's said way too often. It's gone too far.
I think the conatations of the tagline make it more racist.
