Its too much **** going on at once at that website, at least the old design was managable. Before they re-design their website, they need to re-design their network.
I'm currently the only loser with dial-up and the combination of the main site with Overdrive equals ridiculous loud times. Not only that, but as many people have said already it's just way too much going on at once.
I had a feeling this would be coming. The first step was making their individual sections (Music, On TV, etc) into blocks of Flash. The next step was incorporating the VMA site into Overdrive. Now it's all in there and it sucks. Especially the news. That needs to be straight-up text, and it's not. Total form over function.
On my computer, it literally now takes 5 minutes to get the TRL section up, and then another 5 minutes to vote. *__*! ...But it's more motivation to get a stronger computer on my end.
If you can manage to get to the voting list for some reason, there is a scroll bar on the right side of the window containing the voting list to scroll down. Click the down arrow or drag the bar downward to scroll down.
I've noticed that it takes a very long time to open up the voting list in MTV's new design. Also, I haven't seen any way of signing in other than voting for a video on TRL. Before, there was a way to sign in before voting.
PS. The experiences relate to visiting MTV.com in Firefox and Internet Explorer 6.0. I think that the new design uses up too much bandwidth for their current servers to handle.
