According to Fox News, the blonde beauty Scarlett Johansson is currently working on her first album "Scarlett Sings Tom Waits." Apparently the actress will continue recording the album in the coming months for a possible release date next spring.
The album's release will reportedly be coordinated with the 21-year-old's film schedule. The album will be one of cover songs with gravel-voiced crooner Tom Waits, who is considered one of the top singer-songwriters in the business.
Unlike other actresses who have tried to launch a singing career, Fox columnist Friedman insists that Johansson can actually sing. "My spies say that Scarlett has a lovely, whispery delivery that carries a tune nicely and is suited to Waits' unusual lyrics," the columnist writes. Friedman added: "Unlike some other recent pop tarts, Scarlett - who turns 22 next month - can actually sing; she is no Paris Hilton. Also her choice of material is a tad more sophisticated."
Scarlett Johansson recently made the headlines by saying: "I get tested for HIV twice a year. One has to be socially aware. It's part of being a decent human, to be tested for STDs. It's just disgusting behavior when people don't. It's so irresponsible." Even though she denied sleeping around, she admitted that it’s very hard to stay true to one man only.
Agreeing with fellow actress Sienna Miller who thinks that people are a lot like animals when it comes to sex, Johansson said: "I do think on some basic level we are animals, and by instinct we kind of breed accordingly. But as much as I believe that, I work really hard when I'm in a relationship to make it work in a monogamous way."
Actress Scarlett Johansson has earlier this year topped a list of the "100 Sexiest Women in the World" chosen in a poll of readers of the men's magazine FHM. "One of the best things for a woman to hear is that she is sexy," the 21-year-old actress, star of Match Point and Lost in Translation, said in a statement. "I'd like to thank FHM's readers for the huge compliment."
Last year, Johansson ranked ninth on a list that was topped by the now pregnant Angelina Jolie, who came second this year. Also in this year's top 10 were Jessica Alba, Keira Knightley, Jessica Simpson and Maria Sharapova. "It's remarkable how Scarlett Johansson has caught the attention of our readers," said Scott Gramling, the magazine's U.S. editor in chief, in a statement. "Her sultry voice and striking beauty certainly have a lot to do with that, but so does the confidence she exudes."
"She seems to be one of those women who would be equally at ease on the red carpet as she would just hanging out with the guys."
