Our well-placed sources have confirmed that R&B superstar and music producer Usher Raymond IV is all set to sing a song for the pan-Indian superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan and is expected to record the track sometime soon.

Oscar-winner AR Rahman is scoring music for the film. This film's music earlier made headlines when reports surfaced that Rajini will be returning to singing for a film after 21 years.
Well, all we can say is that it takes a superstar to sing for another. Bring on the music!

Huh? Rajinikanth isn't really "pan-Indian superstar." He's a Tamil film ("Kollywood") superstar so it's mostly Tamils and maybe other South Indians who are very familiar with him.

India is a diverse country and every state has its own culture and language so naturally each has their entertainment industries and stars. There are tons of other movie industries in India like Bengali and Marathi films, but they aren't as trashy and commercial as those three big ones so they haven't been stamped with pathetic -wood names.

Hindi films ("Bollywood") are the most popular internationally and nationally probably because the Indian government uses it as the official language so more Indians understand it by default and many non-Indians are most familiar with it too.

There's also a "Nollywood" for Nigerian films.

Among the list, I am familiar with Bollywood and Nollywood. I need to check out the Kolly and Tollywood films

He's sort of legendary, since Kollywood's India's second-biggest film industry.
