I would feel guilty boosting the score by a bit but I will if I have to.

I think it'd end up in the mid-eighties, it works more cohesively as a true album imo, not just a collection of singles related by the same genre, and people appreciate that.

If I were completely honest I'd give it like a 6.5-6.8

Beyoncé's latest studio effort, 4, retains her signature R&B/pop sound while experimenting with new genres, such as 70s and 80s soul and R&B. It is a mid-tempo album, containing both the ballads ("1+1", "I Was Here") and the uptempos ("Countdown", "Run the World (Girls)"), as well finding middle ground between the two ("Love on Top", "Best Thing I Never Had"). I strongly recommend it to people who enjoy music of all genres, because I can guarantee that you will enjoy listening to at least one song on this very diverse, experimental album.

You're only gonna post one review each time? You should put them all in spoiler boxes.

90/100
1+1, End of Time, Countdown
This album has my three most listened songs of last year. There is no bad track; even the weakest tracks--I Was Here and Start Over--are above average tracks on some other albums. In this album there is an interesting combination of old and new, as seen by Party + Love on Top and End of Time + Run the World (Girls). Fantastic album.

What you are saying is very true. R&B listeners will love almost all the songs on the album. The middle-aged adults who are into old-school can use 1+1, LOT and LUUM. People who like World/Club music can use RTW. Rockers can get into SL. Etc.,

A modern RnB gem, 4 brings to the table what no other contemporary artist has been able to create in a long time: soul. Not the genre, but raw, pure energy in music that has been sorely lacking from the industry. Beyonce's bombastic vocals coupled with slick drum-based production and influences from every decade in the past century make for a polished record; one that simply oozes the class of a diva who knows she's made it, and is just enjoying the ride.
80% of the lyrics suck though.

It's an excellent album. The critics agree. A lot of the people doing reviews aren't Beyonce stans. This album has been on many Year-end lists by professional critics. It's a good album, hands down. The lowest grade I've EVER seen ANYONE give it is a C+. It's really an A-, though.

Ain't biased. I love Beyonce, I didn't like her last two albums that much. I gave B'Day a 80 . Anything above a 80 on Metacritic has to be absolutely fantastic, 4 really isn't that amazing.

Beyonce's 4
90/100
Top Songs: Countdown.I Was Here,End of Time.
This album is purely magical. I am really ashamed of myself for writing it off when it was released thinking it was boring and not my type. But even then I would give it spin every now and then. And each day it grew on me severely to the point that i realized that it is not only her finest but also above the other pop girls(yes even my fave).
Some may say it's dated, for me it's a risk project that she pulled of effortlessly. Sad that it'll remain underrated to the general public due to the dismal commercial success, but I am sure the fans and those who gave it a proper spin appreciates it being among their collection!
Great album all in all!

Thanks, boo.
I thought your review was excellent. It perfectly describes the flawlessness of 4.
