New Gwen Stefani album confirmed
It's coming out this year
Gwen Stefani has confirmed the release date of her new album.
The follow up to 2004's 'Love Angel Music Baby' is set to appear on December 4.
Although the title has not yet been announced, various fan websites are speculating that it will be called 'Sweet Escape'.
As previously reported, the singer has again teamed up with Pharrell Williams, Akon, Swizz Beatz and No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal.
She told MTV News: "There's a lot of songs that were left over from the last album, and there's some new songs I did with Pharrell. There's a lot of Pharrell on this record. I did some stuff with Tony and some stuff with Akon."
Possible tracks which may appear on the album, include 'Fluorescent Lights', 'Candyland', 'Wind It Up', 'Breaking Up' and 'Orange County Girl'.
She has been doing alot of recording so I'm thinking it will be alot of new stuff now. I don't love the B-sides we have heard all that much but there are others that are supposed to be great that haven't leaked plus the bunch of new stuff.
I heard CandyLand and that was sooo boring and uncreative! strange coming from her. here's to hoping she has another Hollaback Girl on her hands. Seems too soon for some reason.
This is too soon.. it seems like LAMB was released yesterday! And I'm not liking the fact that she's recycling 2 year old songs that didn't make it on the other record.
The album was released 2 years ago. No different to what Britney does.
Gwen is currently putting the finishing touches on a brand new album which will be out before the end of the year. "This is definitely another dance record but the sound has evolved a lot over the last two years as I've gone in and out of the studio. It's more melodic and very modern." she said recently. This time around Pharrell Williams, Nellee Hooper and Tony Kanal return producing/co-writing new songs while first time collaborators Akon and Tim Rice-Oxley (of Keane) join the fray. Song titles include "Wind It Up", "Orange County Girl", "Fluorescent" and "Candyland."
A live DVD is also set to be released this year. The Harajuku Lovers Live DVD will feature a full concert performance shot last year in Gwen's hometown of Anaheim, CA and will be packed with bonus features and footage as well. The live performance includes all the songs off of L.A.M.B. along with 2 songs from the new album. Frequent video director and friend Sophie Muller helmed the concert film.
