Q4 Music launches in full force today as new cd's from Evanescence, The Killers, Beck, George Strait, and Jet all hit stores.

Domestically, I think Evanescence has first week sales in the bag.
Internationally - it's all Killers. Their one-day total in the UK alone was 100k (that is insane btw).

I think Jet could do very well Internationally as well.

I was just at the mall picking up Killers & Jet, and quite a few people were in line already buying Evanescence and The Killers.

What are your picks?

I picked up Evanescence, Beck, and The Killers this morning.

Evanescence will own the US Chart!

Target is selling Evanescence's The Open Door for about $10, which isn't that bad of a price. (But its only for a short time only until 10/7) *Cheesy Fan-Ad Plug *

I also saw The Killers, Monica, and Jet being sold for about that price or $11/12 (My short-term memory didn't pick their prices up.)

Wow, I can't believe everyone is writing off George Strait as if he's some nobody AGAIN!

Evanescence does not "own" #1 here in the US in the slightest, especially with Strait roaming around. He just had the #1 song on country radio and his new song is already starting to blow up there. Nevermind that he is one of the biggest selling country artists of ALL TIME.

Yeah, there are no guarantees this week. The Killers will sell quite a few copies, as will Evanescence, and Beck SHOULD. But never count out George Strait.

Evanescence will sell more albums than anyone else.
Killers should make it somewhere near.

IMO this is a horrible day for music if you're releasing an album today, just way too much competition and not enough focused hype on you.

For me there ain't no big albums coming out until November 14th when The Doctors Advocate hits stores, cheah!!

All I know.. is that I said Evanescence has #1 in the bag in the US (my prediction, could be wrong, you could be right, we could both be wrong), and didn't comment on who would be runner up or if Strait would or wouldn't be a contender.

I was at Circuit City here in NYC and it was packed, i saw a lot of people picking up The Killers it's only 8.99. I bought The Killers, JET, Evanenscence and Monica. They where all under $10 so it was all good.

I picked up Evanescence ($10) & The Killers ($9) at Circuit City. I was extremely ticked that they didn't have Robin Thicke's album. Now I need to hit a Best Buy or something...

I see it being a toss-up between George & Evanescence for #1.

I bought both, The Killers and Evanescence's albums at Target, 9.98 each one!

and I really love how the Evanescence's album is packaged!

for everyone writing it off as being uninspired, listen to it with headphones. **** is his best in a long time, and he's never dropped even a mediocre album.

in terms for who will be #1, I am thinking the Killers will be. they have been getting more press about their album then anyone else this week.

I bought Sam's Town & The Open Door today, along with Monica and Lupe Fiasco (who has been out for a couple of weeks) all at Target today.

I really love how The Killers are less relient of new wave/synthy production and less concerned with the mainstream. It's a great move for them. Not only will it preserve a dedicated fanbase but also the quality of music, which is evident while I'm listening to it right at this moment. I'd also like to take a moment to bash their critics. First off, Brandon Flowers is a fine performer. I thought the two SNL performances were great to F all who don't agree. Second, the album is GREAT. I love how some mags (ROLLINGSTONE) are trying to belittle Sam's Town by praising Hot Fuss, which they weren't even fond of originally. Buffoons.

I first played Evanescence. I didn't get through the entire album yet but only because I wasn't so impressed by it. I do love Sweet Sacrifice, Weight Of The World, Snow White Queen, & Lacrymosa. I'm sure it'll eventually grow on me.

I've only had the disc for less than 12 hours now, and I have heard Ev's entire LP twice. ^__^! I don't see how they cannot be #1 or #2 next week, they're coming off from Fallen. (Which was a very-successful 6xPlatinum CD + millions more elsewhere in the world.)
