You cannot release a critically acclaimed album, lmao. It doesn't work that way. Look at Katy's Metacritic scores... The critics hate Katy when it comes to full albums. She will never release a darker, more serious album because it's not what people want and Katy and Capitol are all about giving people what they want. Stop fooling yourself.

I think she will. Rihanna didn't win until her third album. Britney and Madonna didn't win until their fourth albums, etc.

I don't know why this was reported, but I completely agree. Though it depends on a lot of things, this ridiculously successful era not winning anything does not bode well for her. She'll like never be voted for over artists taken more seriously by the academy like Adele, Gaga, Beyonce, etc. But there's always a chance; I doubt she'll ever win more than 2 or 3 though.

Katy don't need no Grammy Award anyway. She has her fans, she's hot, she makes good music and everyone loves her songs. People aren't going to think any less of her for not winning.

Hopes for next year?

No

I think if she sticks with going darker on her next album, and possibly having M83 help her on it may turn her to doing alternative music (which I would love to see). I think she would have a good shot of getting one on a more mature, darker, alternative album . And if she still doesn't, she'll stick around long enough.

Of course. At least she has that ALBUM OF THE YEAR nomination, because there's a lot of artists who have never been nominated for something so prestigious.

I think she can. But I don't think she's had "bad luck" as some of said. Looking at her nominations, she's lost to some good artists/songs. I don't think she unfairly lost any of the categories.

If she keeps releasing the material that she is currently selling, no but she is apparently coming out with a dark album so that could either do wonders for her or she could get snubbed hard like Rated R.
