The fact that Katy's songs spent several weeks at #1 and topped every other Billboard chart makes your point invalid and stop talking like she discounted all of her singles, she only did it with LFN (after going #1) and TOTGA, which didn't even hit #1

all Katy had to do was look hot in a bikini (effectively i might add ), lower individual prices, and let the label add rappers to her songs.
GURL, just hold the **** up. you don't have to state it over and over again. we get it, you are one of those who "greatly loath" Katy and her cheap tactics. you don't have to shove your opinion twice.
I mean guys, promotion is promotion.
The BB charts do nothing but measure the most popular songs of that week, it just so happens that Katy had many songs be the most popular song of those weeks, it doesnt mean that Katy is a better artist than MJ, that MJ's legacy is damaged and no one cares about his accomplishments anymore because Katy has 5 songs from one week be the most popular song of that week
No matter what price, remix, whatever, that many people bought that song that week, no one HAD to buy those remixes/discounted songs, no one from capitol as far as we know (cheli ) was buying it just for a higher chart position. So if billboard, you know, the people who actually made the chart yall are talking about, think of it as fine, then its seriously about time you
That only happened in LFN & TOTGA, and the latter failed to reach the top! POM, IKAG, CG, TD, F & ET are 6 songs that reached the top without any help! [The Kanye remix wasn't released just to make it go #1 and I don't take it as a cheap method because it was promoted with a video and a performance with Kanye]. Rihanna did a last minute remix and made her song go #1 with a discount, but everyone remember Katy's "dirty strategies" because she broke a HUGE record with that (That was not a Rihanna shade!)
Anyway, I dont really agree with you, but I happy you're honest!
worthy argument, and i honestly don't think the intention was there when she did the Kanye remix. but that still doesn't overrule the fact that she still tried the method (since it worked with Rihanna) for her last two singles. people focus on Katy's usage of it because she did it much more frequently. Rihanna and Britney just did that for one of their singles. i'm not justifying anything, but there is a reason to the madness is what i'm saying.

i said it twice.
gurl.
and i like Katy's music actually, so no i don't loathe her. i dislike her strategies. two different things.
quick to judge, huh? just because i admit there are a few flaws i find in her automatically means i hate her. yeah, sure okay. makes complete sense @.@

E.T feat. Kanye West was NOT a remix. It was the single version of the song. Both are very different things, since when you make a remix, the album version and the remix's sales are counted as ONE song which obviously adds up to a much larger amount. whereas the single version and the album version chart as two different songs.
The album version had already gone Platinum in Australia. it would have smashed w/o Kanye as well.
If you go in the 'Ask Billboard' history, Gary said that the song would've gone #1 without Kanye's presence.
( I mean if part of me can go no.1 without any help, E.T sure as hell can )
The Missy Elliot and B.o.B remixes however, i do not appreciate. But Artists have done that in the past and it's not against the rules.

And lets not forget Gaga discounted her alubum on Amazon or whatever to get over that 1M opening week with BTW. Or Rihannas discount to get OG(INW) #1
And if you look at a lot of people besides Katy have used remixs to help out there song. Look at Nicki Minajs remixs, shes been added on to songs afterwards to help them get a boost like TTWE and DA$$. There was a remix to S&M. Ke$ha was even on the TTWE remix. Theres a remix with Tyga on The Motto, Ludacris on Dirt Road Anthem, and theres many more.
That leads Katy Cats into believing that people who trash Katy are just pressed. And if its because of the MJ thing she diserved it, CG, TD, and FW got #1 without a doubt. E.T. was promoted the who time as the remix and not the original so it deserved its #1 as well, and LFN had gone #1 on Digital and Airplay which were at the time the only factors to reaching #1, it just happened that the peaks were way off so it need a little extra push, a type of push that hundreds of artists have used in the past and continue to us. I just dont get why shes shaded so much when everyones favs have used tactics before.
And MJ at the time of his 5 #1's used a tactic at the time, which was to release it to airplay, and at its peak finally release it digitaly, giving it a huge advantage, and thats why 3 of them only spent one week at #1 and the other 2 spent 2 weeks at #1. And lets not even get start on many of Mariah Careys tactics, and other artists in the past who have done similiar stuff
In the end, ur just pressed, cause what Katy has done is NOTHING NEW whatsoever.
