It depends on the artist and what they want from him. People who don't demand much other than "a hit" will get generic crap designed to be popular on the radio like his tracks on Nicki's new album. He's a fantastic producer, it's the artists he produces for that are the problem.
He is a great producer only when he works with Gaga. His productions with Gaga are different, but with other artists, it's almost the same. See recent singles by Jlo and Paulina Rubio, and you'll see.
