"Boku wa Kuma" (ぼくはくま, lit. I'm a Bear) is expected to be Utada Hikaru's 17th Japanese single (22nd overall). The single is currently expected to be out in early November, just a matter of months after Hikaru's last studio effort, ULTRA BLUE, and only two months after the end of her tour, UTADA UNITED.
Utada was reported as saying that "Boku wa Kuma" is her first time writing a children's television song. She is also reported as being confident with this cheerful but gentle song for the NHK kid's show in Japan which will air throughout October and November using Hikaru's song as its theme.
"Boku wa Kuma" is slated to be aired on radio on October 1, and on TV the day after. A limited pressing edition of the single will also include a children's book created by Utada as a bonus.

Lyrics (English translation)
I am a bear bear bear bear
I am not a car bear bear bear
I can't walk but I can dance
I can't talk but I can sing
I am a bear bear bear bear
I am a bear bear bear bear
I hate fighting bear bear bear
My rival is fried shrimp
I was probably chocolate in a previous life
I am a bear bear bear bear
Hello! I am Kuma. How are you?
I am a bear bear bear bear
The winter is cold bear bear bear
In the evening, "Goodnight, Mr. Pillow"
In the morning, "Good morning, Mr. Pillow"
I am a bear bear bear bear
In the evening, "Goodnight, Mr. Pillow"
In the morning, "Good morning, Mr. Pillow"
I am a bear
Mama bear bear
I'm confident this will be the #1 song of 2006! Only a few more days until this brilliant work of art is unleashed upon the world
LMAO, you guys are taking this seriously? It says right there that this single was meant as a light children's song and is the theme song for NHK's kids shows.
Anyways, I still think it is wasted effort and totally useless, as she should release something more serious now, instead of a children's song. Still, nonetheless, the Japanese are going to be pathetic and lap it up...I'm sure it will hit #1. ^ _ ^
