Seriously though, this is exactly why I left Gaga. I was here for Fame/Fame Monster songs, not that BTW crap I'm staying with Nicki because she did actually bring out material that I stanned for (ie most of Pink Friday and some of PF:RR). I thought she did the pop to broaden her audience, which I totally understood and thought was a smart move. But catering ONLY to pop and deciding to be more in the Pop lane than hip-hop...
I was okay with her turning her back on her hip-hop fans for a while, but turning her back on them forever?
It totally nullifies everything she's worked for in the past.
Nevertheless, unless I actually hear Nicki say she'll be more of a Pop artist than a Hip-Hop one, I'm still here
Siya just posted on my wall that I must love Pop Nicki. And the truth is, I do. So much so, I did something that a lot of you are going to probably get very mad about...
I'm a SongPeople panelist, and I did a post-purchase evaluation of PF:RR last week. Nicki's UK team see the comments I and like a hundred others make, and it usually has some sort of influence. I obviously rated the album very highly, and gave it a solid 8/10. Got to pick my choice for 5 future singles, and I picked Pound The Alarm, Whip It, Marilyn Monroe, Beautiful Sinner and Va Va Voom.
However, towards the end of the survey, they ask what you would do differently regarding the album, and if I had any suggestions for the future release strategy. Some of what I said included my own Standard Edition tracklist:

Think about re-releasing this as a more focused pop album at a £5 RRP. See previous page.
So bitch at me all you want. I get paid (in Amazon credits lol) to have the above opinion.

I said I'd put the rest of the hip hop tracks as bonus tracks, and that Sex in the Lounge shouldn't be on any version of the album as it's not a Nicki Minaj track.

That's because the song was originally a solo song. Nicki got it from someone else.
Nicki's NEVER going to just completely leave her urban audience and give up her 'queen of rap' title, she already said hip hop will always be in her heart and a passion

And considering that she labels herself "a female Rapper" and abandons the title "Pop star" and even seems to get mad when someone call her it, shows she'll never go fully pop.

I stan hard for Nick sis, but she used to make fun of those dance/pop girls, now half of her album sounds like something from LMFAO? I've lost my trust in her, I can't take what she previously said (pre-pink friday) seriously anymore, I've just lost all sense of wheres she's going

I can always switch to Azealia, Nicki Not that hard.
But what does that say about you? It's one thing if you didn't have the sig and avi and were a fanweather fan...this is why artist have a hard time because they have to deal with ppl that play those games. As a fan, you have to stand stronger than that, luv.
as long as she doesnt completely leave hip hop..i'll deal. but if it's a full pop album i can't go. tbh i hope she meant songs on the line of masquerade and super bass and whip it when she said pop...pound the alarm and automatic are cute but i want her to rap more then sing in her pop songs....I pray to God she knows what she's doing but...she should every time i doubted her she made me look stupid so eh :/
Not certain girls, just most of the pop girls in general, the whole idea of her turning pop used to disgust her, but that was just fake I guess, cause in Press Conference she said she had never planned to stay doing hip-hop... she lied to us

But, when did she say that? Because she always said she loved dance pop and that her music was a mixture of it. Her music has been leaning toward pop in general since BMUS. So, I'm not getting where she was disgusted. ...Please enlighten me.

I agree.
I think this album is just a lesson in disguise. I'm hoping as a fan, long down the road, this album will just be one of her duds.
I call it a dud loosely because the first half is some of her best work but overall this era has not been good for my perception of her.
