is there some kind of program that chops out the voice in mp3s and just have the background music? i need one for mariah's "forever" really bad! my friend needs it for a show! help???

I'd like to know this as well. In the past I've helped people with their video projects, and I've struggled with just finding the instrumental tracks to certain songs that the client is wanting.

Well, It's a pretty hard method and it depends on the recording itself. You have to get the best HQ available (The direct single/album cd rip is preferable). Anyways, The music must be recorded on the left and right side . The vocals are recorded in the middle. Some artists make it just prefect ,some add the background vocals /the chorus everywhere and it's a mess, Sometimes you will realize that there's an instrument missing after everything is done.It aways works best with higher beats songs , and especially ROCK songs.

The results aren't always 100% , but it's still prefect for karoke stuff.

ANYWHO, I'll try to look for the instrumental ,if I didn't find it I might do it for you.

Try to play it with winamp ,it works.

yeah it plays on winamp but i need to burn it on a disc. it wont burn cause of the filename. i tried all my audio converting programs and none does the .xm files.

If you are interested a program called Audacity can do this with certain Stero Tracks.

anyone know the program where u can record an audio on whatever your computer is playing. for example you wanna record a radio broadcast and make an mp3 out of it. i remember i used to have it. i forgot the name. i was just gonna use that program to get an mp3 version of the song... play on winamp and record it. ahhh somebody help?!?!
