Ke$ha doesn't nearly as backing track as much as you think... she usually has her backround singers.. and even still her voice is higher then them so you can tell them apart...

More consistent with terrible performances, yes.
And the fact that that was coming from a Katy stan must tell you how weak Ke$ha's voice is. Her voice is so autotuned in the studio with most of her songs it's nearly impossible to mimic them exactly. But that's her and her producer's fault.

So you're saying they have equally good voices? It's not asking who has the greatest voice of all time, just whose voice is even slightly better than the others, so a 'Neither' option would be pointless since 99% of the votes there would be people trying to be funny rather than actually thinking their voices are equal.

Ke$ha in the studio is autotuned to death. I love that about her, but there is no way she can sound the same live unless she's lipping or it's live autotuned

Katy is actually a beautiful singer given the right circumstances. Alone with a guitar she is stunning. On stage with a full production behind her she is a mess.

Her voice is suited for ballad-y type songs, she needs the studios help to fit her voice into those pop gems but if she has the right song she does sound great. More so than Ke$ha who isn't terrible, but even on songs like Goodbye and that Bob Dylan cover still sounds all over the place.
