And that's just it. At least we're hearing the actual artists voices, no matter how altered, and not somebody else's altered voice.

Ummm. Sit. Autotuned records is still a form of self-expression regardless if it's altered. I know I loved doing those fan-singing when I was younger because of how I love the effect of my voice changing to something you can't do without a machine. It opened up doors for music just like how microphones and speakers made your voice louder than it really is. How can someone defend what they did? Their voices weren't even in their albums. They were just plain old image to support the songs they never recorded to begin with.
