I'd say there's loads of males in the charts. Just on ATRL nobody ever talks about them.

For example, in reality, Bruno Mars, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Flo Rida and Taio Cruz are bigger pop stars than Nicki Minaj, but on this website for some reason everybody is obsessed with Nicki whilst Bruno, Enrique, Taio, Pitbull, Flo Rida, etc. go around having massive smashes and hardly anybody talks about him.

Basically.

Pop male artists are often so disposable nowadays , aka one hit wonders.. I dont know where Gotye , or Fun or whoever will be next year. Gurls dominate pop and since pop produces sales and dominates airplays , I dont see how men can dominate the industry.. U can find men dominating almost every other genre...but those genres usually account for less than 20% of the charts .. I dont know if what im going to say is legit , but at least in my country no one buys music except for people[geighs and gurls] who listen to pop and STAN for pop female artists.....

I think it's harder for men due to what is perceived about pop and it's reputation. Michael Jackson is probably the best blueprint to use but it's probably too flamboyant for most men. JT got it right but he decided to dip out of the music industry with no indication when he's returning. Bieber and Bruno are really all we have as for viable male pop stars.

Men tend to dominate all other genres such as Country, Rock, and Rap anyway. Although I think R&B is a little more 50-50.

You can look at the charts now and see that males are dominating.

Of course males can dominate the industry. Men are behind some of the success of these women after all.

Men write the songs, produce the songs, market the music and take care of business matters including promotion. Females are just selling the finished product to you all.

But what about the '80s with Prince, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, George Michael, Bruce Springsteen, etc.? Many of the top acts of that time were men.

I think these days the general public is sick of female voices especially that most of them can't actually sing I think 2012 will be the year of men dominating the charts
