Simon Cowell has said that Britney Spears would be a "fascinating" addition to the X Factor USA judges' panel.
The music mogul, who confirmed last week that he wants the 'Criminal' singer on the show, said that talks are ongoing but he is hopeful that a deal will be reached soon.
"I would love to have her on the show," Cowell said in a call to TMZ.
"I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to."
Cowell went on to say that he expects to confirm Spears's involvement in the show within the next week.
This show is all about hype about judge announcements and then when the show starts is a total borefest.
Hopefully Britney can change that (if she's really part of the show).

I know what you mean. I got bored of the first series straight after Judges Houses. I stuck around to see Rihanna, but by the time they were at live shows, I was bored off my ass.
X Factor UK has so much spectacle and drama, I really don't get why US's first series ended up so dry. I think you need a Louis Walsh type of judge, someone who really doesn't care how they're portrayed and has absolutely nothing to lose. Someone who judges for the sheer hell and enjoyment of it.

Louis comment to Frankie.... "tlThe only thing big about you is your hair"

YESS exactly. The X Factor US needs someone ratchet. Someone who isn't over-thinking everything they say because they want a certain portrayal or reputation.
For ya'll who don't know, watch this:
Watch from 3:38 onwards. Louis is just OFF THE CHAIN. The argument! The genuine drama, not fake drama. Gary and Kelly go mental at him.
And he throws shade like no one else. Kelly took a week off for being ill, Louis then says "at least I'm here every week" in the SHADIEST tone. And then he goes ratchet at Kelly- "at least I'm not playing to the cameras like you are". To Kelly Rowland. Before telling Gary Barlow to shut up.
You wouldn't ever get that sort of stuff on the overly-polished US X Factor.
Trust me, ATRL. Get Britney as your ratings winner, get Louis as your ratings KEEPER. It's the best decision Simon could ever make.
