I never heard any Lassie from anybody in my whole life. I googled the film. It's not even a big hit. I guess it must be somewhat iconic in the western community, I mean local, like Taylor Swift album sales.
Lol, y'all might like dogs more but cats have been way more iconic in the society. They were the pets of old Egyptian pharao's, they are in dozen of movies and actually play a main role like Garfield. The rest has been posted already, too.
