OMG. An exciting rumor!! Selena already did the tapes for 13RW. She did it in the end of March- I'm guessing that might have been why she was in the studio and the movie is being filmed this year and is looking at a March 2013 release.

Miley's Hannah albums sold A LOT more and all of the merchandising and endorsements. She got a huge cut from those. Not to mention her wildly successful tour. Miley's networth is basically her networth + Hannah's.

I would say 40 came from Miley and the rest everything Hannah-related.

Mpvies based on bestselling books have been doing great at the box office lately, for example Julie and Julia, Eat Pray Love, The Help, The Vow etc

Yeah but the people cast in those movies are already known. Julia Roberts, Rachel McAdams, Channing?

She's Selena Gomez. She is just breaking into the acting world. Selena needs to be able to reach the Gen. Population not just people who like the book and her stans. That won't make enough money B/c not all stans will see it and not all people who love/buy the book will see the movie. So she needs to be able to reach out.

I think you have a large number of people who love the book and will be atleast willing to check out the trailer. I doubt they're automatically going to refuse to see it because it's Selena. Outside of anti -Selena stanbases, the general public either likes Selena or are neutral about her.
