If you've been wondering why Interscope haven't released any Lana single to US stations yet,here's your answer(but we kinda knew this already).

Now the questions are:

1. How many Video Games type of songs were scrapped from album in order to make it more commercially appealing?
2. Will Interscope force Lana to go fully pure pop on next album to make her more marketable to US?

Well its impossible to answer the first question..

But the second one is easy. They are not going to force her. Lana is okay even though almost all of the BTD songs are non radio-friendly. And her album sales are pretty good so i dont think that a change is needed. But they can try with more public appealing songs like BTD, OTTR.. I mean Video Games is the most risky song on the album.

A senseless crime. May those songs rest in peace.

I'm not surprised about this. From a newcomer it was bit risky to have Video Games as single. I mean if you look at the charts, they're not dominated music like this. I'm sure why they released it was because the track and video went so viral on Youtube.

Video Games should have been a huge hit. Great song and love the music video.

The Grammys will not overlook her and the single Video Games.

Interscope is trying to pull an ADELE with LANA

It's practicably impossible for me to answer the first question, but as far as the second one: They may work on her sound a little. Some more up tempo songs could do her some good.

That album is full of hits. Release TIWMUG or SS. The songs that are more beat-driven can do some damage on US radio and also satisfy Europe.

Video Games could have started a new wave; instead its We Are Young/STIUK. A missed opportunity there. Hopefully 'Born To Die' gets a proper single release/promotion... it could be huge because of the newwave stating in mainstream right now.. this is the time.

Radio will Completely OWN If it was released.

The Chorus has some serious Sing Along Cred

This. SS is a jam. WTF is up with Interscope. If they'd put VG out on pop radio in early December, she might have had a top 40 hit. And her sales would've been bigger, and given her a #1. It clearly had appeal, IIRC peaked at #40 on US itunes. And have you seen the Europe chart stats? SMH at them....look at her album sales so far, and it tells you with a big push, she'd be HUGE....Come on Interscope... And there's me thinking they gave her adds and she flopped singles wise.

The fact that Carmen is a single...

If they didn't want Video Games or songs like it, they should not have included it on the album. The whole thing flows perfectly and has very similar production and then Video Games comes and does not sound like the others. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It's the best song, guaranteed, but it is so out of place on the record. If anything it should have been a buzz single or they should have made the whole album sounding like that song.

But the fact is, NONE of the songs have top 40 appeal. It's not an album for the radio, it's an album for music's sake

I don't think so.It's getting some airplay but I doubt Interscope will send it for adds.
But if any of Lana's songs succeeds on US radio,there's possibility of Video Games getting released at some point there.
