You're not alone, I still get excited when I see my faves' videos on TV.

But nobody does that anymore. It's "boring". Teens and young adults are literally glued to their phones and laptops and tablets at ALL times. I feel lost if I leave my phone at home when going to work or something, lol.

But in all seriousness, I don't watch TV anymore. At all.

But I get the idea. Instead of thinking "MVs on TV", record labels should focus on putting more of their hit songs into modern-day commercials that air in between episodes on the web or even during primetime.

That's exactly what it is, lol. Nostalgia. I used to be like that in like 2007-2008, always wanting MTV to change back to what it was in 1999-2001, but I realized it's pointless to keep wanting things to "go back to the way they were". It's better to look ahead into new technologies and ways to advance the medium.

But shows like that are often used for promotional purposes as well. Artists can reach way more people that way. I mean have you seen 106th and park?? It's still huge and a lot of teens watch it.

Even if not music videos, broadcast shows that are music related, like a realworld just solely based on musicians or something like that

I still have no respect for MTV, their lack of any type of music on their main channel, the falseness of their channel name & their biased reporting on their website (they call someone else the queen of pop every other week).

ABC or one of the main national channels should have a music-related talkshow. It would be a refreshing topic on a channel like that & it could be something really big if handled correctly.

I still miss all of those TV shows.

I would be here for a VEVO channel, honestly. They could show music videos, "The Making of..." type shows, mini interviews, different types of countdowns, tons of performance specials, they could do their own Video Music Awards and they could even have a music/artist based talk show (sort of like how DirectTV did with "CD USA" back in the day).

I really think that would be a success. Especially since buying music and supporting our favorite artists/newer artists has become a little more popular again.

Aren't their music channels in the US? We have like 30 channels in the UK that just play Music Video's including MTV Music, MTV Dance, MTV Base, MTV Rock, MTV Hits and MTV Classic.

It depends on what cable provider you use. I'm pretty sure Verizon FiOS has a lot of music channels. The last time I checked they had music channels so detailed there was a channel for "college music." But they're fairly new and they still haven't covered a lot of area. My parents were gonna get it but our area wasn't covered.

And it also depends on what package you get with your provider. They get pretty expensive.
