Lionel got that on promo. Greatest Hits + Great Promo = winning combination. He was going to sell just 45,000 without that. He was on CBS for 2 hours on Friday with the country people from his album and his CD shot up from #25ish to #1 and stayed there all weekend on iTunes. His old CD's (Greatest Hits minus Country) and some of the CD's of the country folks he sung with entered the Top 20 too.

Y'all calm down. He only asked "I wonder what Madonna will say" because it was revealed on twitter than Madonna and Lionel are pretty good friends/former neighbors. I'm sure she will congratulate him on getting to #1!
