Yeah, the opening act was My Brightest Diamond who is basically Sufjan's backup singer's band. She was pretty good. She went to my University!
Sufjan was insane. It was his first time ever in Texas so everyone was just so pumped to see him and the show had been really quietly announced to but it still sold out super fast. He told stories about the songs and he sounded perfect. Like there is not a flaw in that man's voice. There was a small orchestra (3 trumpets, four violinists, guitars, and such) and they were awesome in their own right. Pretty much every song came from the albums
Michigan, Seven Swans, and Illinois. The live rendition of "Seven Swans" was pretty breathtaking I must say. The lyrics are amazing. I feel like I witnessed history that night.
