Why do people give these labels a sexual connotation instantly?
It's like gays always are going on about how being gay doesn't mean wanting to sleep with every guy they see and then they come into threads like these were they find out someone is gay and they immediately judge if they fancy the subject or not. Saying 'I'm Gay' is different from saying 'I'm looking for ****.'
Gurl calm your **** i was just saying that in response as to how everyone else was acting in this thread
Mm, I can't say I agree. It's like people who say race doesn't actually exist and therefore racism isn't real/can't exist either. As long as being queer has consequences in daily life, it's real, just like race, and it needs to be confronted. In order to be confronted, it must be defined. And labeled. For now, "gay" is the face of the queer rights movement, and that's just fine, if limited in scope.
It is defined - as lust for the same sex. However western society's current definition of "gay" = anything even slightly deviating from the social norms of straight males regardless of whether sexuality is involved or not. Platonic affection is gay, skinny jeans are gay, certain colors are gay, certain genres of music are gay, etc. While it's true that certain things appeal more to certain demographics (obviously), there's no need to claim that "these things are ONLY for homosexuals and therefore, I will take the liberty of assuming that anyone who partakes in them wants it up the ass". This mentality is dangerous and backwards. Perhaps it's just human nature to impose separation in such a way, to make life a little less confusing for us in this liberal and multicultural society, but I think humans should be evolved enough by now to not submit to our primal instincts against our better logic. A melting pot culture is very real. It's happening before our eyes and it's inevitable that the lines that we drew in the sand regarding sexuality (along with the stereotypes thereof) will eventually be blurred as well. Women are now allowed the freedom of fluid sexuality and so shall men be, eventually. Let's not end up on the wrong side of history by fighting against it.

He's a cutie, good for him.
BTW, as far as young gays on TV go, I am NOT here for Kurt even remotely being considered my gay icon. Chris is actually pretty funny/likable in interviews, but his character annoys the **** out of me.

This!!!
Especially when he said being bisexual was just an excuse to not be scrutinized as much as homosexuals.
And he only said that because the guy he was obsessing over thought he was bi.
Glee is such a horrible show full of stereotypes. I actually thought that they would start out as their stereotypes and grow out of it as the season went on.
