Rita Ora has been doing songs in the UK underground scene for years. She actually started out nothing like Rihanna, although I agree that R.I.P could easily be a Rihanna song (that's probably because it's produced by two of Rihanna's producers, Stargate and Chase & Status, and written by Drake).
I hate that How We Do song. It's so generic. But R.I.P and Hot Right Now are awesome imo. I hope she gets popular. As a Rihanna fan, I don't find her a threat at all, they can easily both be popular alongside each other. A few years ago there were loads of urban-pop girls going on at the same time.
She could be brilliant with better material, but RIP and How We Do are just so, so basic.
Like, the people that compare to her Rihanna....what kind of ****ed up planet are you on? How at all do her 2 songs match up to We Found Love and Where Have You Been? And Hot Right Now is the work of DJ Fresh, not Rita.

I think she's a very good 'singer' with a great voice but that doesn't necessarily mean that she will be a good artist and so far I haven't seen anything that imperssive - but it's early days and there may be more to come. Who Knows?
I actually like her songs but she will never be Rihanna.
She doesn't need to be Rihanna, she is herself. I love Rita, she has everything to become a worldwide star, I dont see a reason why she can't smash. Rita is going to prove many people that they underrate her too much.
She is for Rihanna what Jessie J is for Katy Perry, similar songs, similar style, better singers but less interesting.
I completely agree with this. Alhough Jessie J has had an era and a half to try to prove herself. The only Rita song I've really been into is DJ Fresh's.
2 songs out and she already got people hating. This comparaison wouldn't have gotten so far if someone just left her swag and style alone.
Now people act like she is the one copying when she has always been that way. Just leave the girl alone, I don't feel A LOT of singers here but I don't feel the need to make a thread on them either.
